A West Berlin woman convicted in the 2013 stabbing death of Oaklyn resident Kafarr Logan-Horton, 33, was sentenced Friday to 20 years in New Jersey state prison.
Shakeysha Pruitt was convicted of aggravated manslaughter, and must serve at least 85 percent of her sentence, or 17 years, before she is parole-eligible, according to the Camden County Prosecutor’s Office.
The incident occurred almost exactly one year ago in the victim’s apartment in the 200 block of West Clinton Avenue.
Authorities said that Pruitt stabbed Logan-Horton twice in the chest with his own kitchen knife after an argument.
Although she drove him to the hospital after the incident, Logan-Horton succumbed to his injuries within a few hours, leaving behind four children.
