An Oaklyn man was convicted of sexually assaulting a five-year-old girl, the Camden County Prosecutor’s Office reported Monday.
William Cannon, 39, was found guilty December 1 of aggravated sexual assault and endangering the welfare of a child. He is scheduled to be sentenced March 13, 2015 and faces as many as 20 years in prison.
Cannon was arrested December 6, 2012 for the crime, which prosecutors said occurred in his Oaklyn home on August 26, 2012.
In January 2013, authorities told Collingswood Patch that Cannon was not believed to have had “ready access to other children.”
His name does not currently appear in the New Jersey Sex Offender Internet Registry.
