Collingswood Schools, Government Outline Massive Facilities, Funding Collaboration Effort
Both entities hope to identify new funding sources for district and community needs; consolidate office, academic, and recreation spaces; and manage future capital improvements for the district and community at large. Before any of that, however, they must plug a $3.6-million hole in the district operating budget in the next few weeks.
The county government plans to invest in a comprehensive overhaul of its wastewater and stormwater infrastructure to mitigate flooding, improve recreation, and contribute to the ecological health of the region. A one-cent increase to the Open Space tax could help cover costs, as well as low-interest borrowing, state and federal grants, and a CCMUA rate increase. Sign in or subscribe to continue reading...
