Although the death of three-year-old Brendan Creato has rattled neighbors near his father’s Haddon Township resident apartment, where the boy was last seen a week ago, authorities have not completed their investigation yet.
In the absence of concluding the case, the Camden County Prosecutor’s Office (CCPO) provided a few insights into the process with a statement issued Wednesday afternoon.
Although Creato’s autopsy results “remain pending,” authorities reported no indications of forced entry at the child’s residence, and no evidence that the boy was sexually assaulted.
“Residents should be aware that detectives will continue to be present in the Haddon Township area as the investigation continues,” the CCPO statement reads.
Both the CCPO and Haddon Township Police “are aware of the public’s concerns” and “appreciate the community’s cooperation.,” the statement said.
Neighbors have reported seeing investigators in the area within the past week, including K-9 units and plainclothes detectives.
Those with tips in the case should contact CCPO Det. Michael Rhoads (856-225-8561), Haddon Township Police Detective Don Quinn (856-833-6208) or e-mail ccpotips@ccprosecutor.org.
