A couple from Pleasant Prairie, Wisconsin has been charged in connection with a September 2022 burglary at Los Jalapenos Bar and Grill in Oaklyn.
Theron Brusch, 47, and Tori Stevens, 29, both of Pleasant Prairie, Wisconsin, are each facing one count of third-degree burglary, third-degree theft, and fourth-degree criminal mischief.
Both Brusch and Stevens are accused of having forced their way into the restaurant on September 21, 2022.
They are alleged to have stolen $60,000 worth of food, alcohol, currency, and electronics, as well as having significantly damaged the restaurant interior, per Oaklyn Police Sergeant Colby Bryszewski.
The duo are presently in custody at the Philadelphia County Jail in Pennsylvania on burglary and criminal trespass charges related to another incident for which they were arrested in October, according to a Philadelphia Police Department spokesperson.
Brusch and Stevens were charged in the Los Jalapenos case on December 22, 2022, after a three-month investigation supported by police from Oaklyn, Bellmawr, and the Camden County Prosecutor’s Office.
By then, they had already been lodged in the Philadelphia correctional facility in connection with the October incident.
A spokesperson for the Pleasant Prairie Police Department confirmed that Stevens had been reported missing from that community in May 2022. The last person she allegedly had been seen with was Brusch.
All persons charged with a crime are considered innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law. An arrest is not a conviction.
