A 28-year-old Camden City woman faces felony murder charges in the shooting death of a Pennsauken woman during a home invasion.

Iyonna Flowers was arrested by U.S. Marshals on September 28 and charged with the killing of Darlene Randall, 62, of Pennsauken, according to the Camden County Prosecutor’s Office (CCPO).

The incident in question occurred on January 9, 2022 in the Sycamore Ridge Apartments.

On that evening, Pennsauken Police officers responded to the 3700 block of Herbert Avenue at approximately 1:52 a.m. for reports of a home invasion.

Upon arrival, they located Randall suffering from a gunshot wound. She was transported to Kennedy Hospital in Cherry Hill, and succumbed to her injury at 2:26 a.m.

On January 12, authorities charged 18-year-old Joshua Johnson of Camden City in connection with Randall’s death. Both he and Flowers are being detained in the Camden County Jail.

Felony murder is a charge of the first degree that is levied when a murder is committed in the process of another major crime. If convicted, Flowers could face as many as 30 years in prison to a life sentence.

All persons charged with criminal offenses are presumed innocent unless and until found guilty in a court of law. An arrest is not a conviction.
