Detectives from the Camden County Prosecutor’s Office (CCPO) and Cherry Hill Police Department have made an arrest in a four-year-old bank robbery case, charging a Maryland man in connection with the incident.
According to the CCPO, 39-year-old Phillip Thomas of Elkton, Maryland faces one count of second-degree robbery, having allegedly passed a note to tellers at the TD Bank in the 1700 block of Route 70 East around 11:16 a.m. on February 26, 2017.
Surveillance footage at the property showed a suspect fleeing the scene in a silver minivan with an undisclosed amount of money; however, it wasn’t until detectives came across new information this year that Thomas was linked to the case.
He was charged in Maryland on March 28, and is currently being held at the Cecil County Detention Center while awaiting extradition to New Jersey.
All persons charged with crimes are presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law. An arrest is not a conviction.
