A Philadelphia ad agency is trading in its Center City offices for a Haddon Avenue address.
Thirteen-year-old Magnum Marketing, an integrated branding and marketing agency, will be setting up shop in Collingswood soon.
The business, which caters primarily to the gaming and hospitality markets, also counts the Philadelphia public school district among its clients. It acquired the standalone office building at 931 Haddon Avenue last month for $600,000.
CEO Frank Palmieri said the move was prompted in part by a desire to downsize amid the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, and partly due to the opportunity presented by the 5,000 square-foot space.
“Most of my employees are working out of their houses in different states, but there’s a lot of people on the Jersey side,” he said. “For three months, we couldn’t get into the office.”
Palmieri foresees potential job creation with the move, too.
Magnum could add another 10 employees to its current staff of 20, who provide multimedia services across a range of industries.
“There definitely will be growth,” he said.
The building is due for a major overhaul inside and out—Palmieri wants to gut both floors to “bring it back to the 21st century”—including replacement windows, a new paint job, and renovated interior.
The agency hopes to move in by year’s end.
In addition to its national client roster, Magnum also plans to leverage its South Jersey address to support small businesses throughout the region.
Among the perks of the new spot, Palmieri said he’s looking forward to eating at Collingswood restaurants (Hearthside is a particular favorite), and shortening his commute from Haddonfield.
“We’re excited to be in the local market,” he said; “it all works hand in hand.”
