Another Camden County resident has lost his battle with novel coronavirus (COVID-19), and 96 others have tested positive for the virus since the weekend, according to reports from the Camden County government.

That brings the local impact of the pandemic to 569 related deaths and 10,200 infected people.

The most recently deceased is a Camden City man in his 60s.

In a statement Monday, Camden County Freeholder-Director Louis Cappelli urged residents not to let down their collective guard “for even one day if we plan to stop the spread [of the virus] and save lives.

“We need everyone to continue to wear masks, social-distance, and take every possible precaution to protect your circle,” Cappelli said.

Of 10,200 reported local COVID-19 cases, 1,986 (19 percent) have originated in a Camden County LTC facility: 1,407 are residents and 579 are staff.
