A 72-year-old Cherry Hill man faces first-degree attempted murder charges after allegedly attacking his ex-wife in her Audubon Park home Sunday morning.

According to the Camden County Prosecutor’s Office, police responded to a stabbing at the intersection of Turtledove Court and Road C in Audubon Park around 10 a.m. July 19.

There they located the victim, a woman who was immediately transported to an area hospital, where she remains in critical condition with multiple stab and slash wounds.

She was, however, able to identify the assailant as her 72-year-old ex-husband, Philip Puche of Cherry Hill.

Investigators identified Puche from surveillance footage that showed him driving around her home the day of the attack, and he was arrested that day by Cherry Hill Police.

Puche faces multiple charges, including

  • first-degree attempted murder
  • first-degree armed robbery
  • second-degree burglary
  • second-degree aggravated assault
  • third-degree aggravated assault on a domestic violence victim
  • third-degree possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose
  • fourth-degree unlawful possession of a weapon

Puche is currently being held in the Camden County Jail while awaiting a pre-trial detention hearing.

All persons charged with crimes are presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law. An arrest is not a conviction.
