Two more Camden County residents have perished from complications related to novel coronavirus (COVID-19): a Camden City man in his 80s and a Winslow Township man in his 60s.

The men are the seventh and eighth local deaths from the virus, according to the Camden County government, which also announced 59 additional, confirmed cases of COVID-19 Wednesday, bringing the county total to 301.

Statewide, the virus is blamed in 355 deaths, and 22,255 residents have been confirmed to have contracted it.

In North Jersey, signs of a surging caseload are beginning to be felt, as state officials described two hospitals diverting new cases overnight due to a lack of capacity.

The 59 new, local, confirmed cases are:

  • an Audubon woman in her 30s and man in his 50s
  • a Barrington woman in her 20s and man in his 60s
  • a Berlin Borough woman in her 30s
  • a Chesilhurst woman in her 30s
  • three Camden City women in their 50s and one each in her 20s and 70s; a Camden City man in his 30s and another in his 70s
  • five Cherry Hill women; two in their 30s, and one each in her 20s, 50s, and 80s; and two men, one in his 20s and another in his 70s
  • a Clementon man in his 60s
  • a Collingswood woman in her 50s
  • six Gloucester Township men; two in their 50s, two in their 80s, one each in his 20s and 40s, and a boy in his teens; and two women, one each in her 30s and 40s
  • a Hi-Nella man in his 50s
  • two Haddonfield women in their 20s and 40s
  • a Lawnside man in his 60s
  • a Lindenwold man in his 70s and a woman in her 60s
  • a Merchantville woman in her 40s
  • five Pennsauken men; three in their 50s, and one each in his 20s and 30s; and three women, one each in her 20s, 30s, and 40s
  • a Runnemede man in his 50s
  • a Stratford woman in her 50s
  • four Voorhees women; one each in her 30s, 50s, 70s, and 80s
  • four Winslow Township men, two in their 40s and one each in his 30s and 50s, and two Winslow Township women, one each in her 40s and 70s
  • a Woodlynne woman in her 40s

 

Camden County opened its first COVID-19 mass testing site today at Cooper’s Poynt Park in Camden City. The walk-up and drive-up facility can see as many as 60 patients a day. Patients must be actively symptomatic and have a referral from a healthcare provider.
