Police are investigating the death of a 22-month-old child found in a vehicle at the Lindenwold PATCO parking lot Friday.

According to a statement from the Port Authority Transit Corporation (PATCO), first responders were called to the Lindenwold station around 3:40 p.m. August 16 for a report of a child left in a van.

“When the Delaware River Port Authority (DRPA) and Lindenwold Police arrived at the scene, they located the 22-month-old female unresponsive in her car seat with the passenger window broken,” the Camden County Prosecutor’s Office (CCPO) reported Saturday.

The baby was pronounced dead at the scene some 15 minutes after the dispatch call was received, the agency said.

The investigation into the incident is ongoing. No charges have yet been filed.

Anyone with information about the incident is urged to contact CCPO Det. Mike Batista (856-676-8175), DRPA Cpl. Joseph Ebling (856-969-7884), or to e-mail ccpotips@ccprosecutor.org
