A 20-year-old man from West Long Branch has been arrested by Camden County authorities after a two-month investigation into his alleged sexual relationship with a 12-year-old Cherry Hill girl.
Anthony M. Woods was arrested Tuesday and charged with 22 criminal offenses, including sexual assault and endangering the welfare of a child.
According to a statement from the Camden County Prosecutor’s Office (CCPO), Woods met the girl online, and allegedly “directed the exchange of sexually explicit photographs and videos” with her. Then, he allegedly picked the girl up at her home in Cherry Hill, drove her to Merchantville, and allegedly sexually assaulted her.
Police searched Woods’ home Tuesday, seizing his vehicle and electronic devices. He was remanded to the Camden County Jail, where he awaits a court appearance.
All persons charged with crimes are presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law. An arrest is not a conviction.
